Because of your kindness, we were able to feed 50,000 hard-working families and children last year — people who would otherwise go to bed hungry without your support.
This Spring we have reconfigured our fixed pantry site to accommodate the need for more food storage. If you’ve come to volunteer you’ve seen the new set up and we hope you, and especially the people we support, appreciate those changes.
This month, thanks to a grant from PNM Foundation, we are also doing some sprucing up on the exterior of the food pantry. The building is getting a long-overdue paint job and more of that project will unfold in the coming weeks.
The Storehouse is gearing up our fundraising efforts knowing that each year when school gets out we have a surge of families that come to get food, as they struggle to pay for childcare and other household expenses. Did you know that 73% of the children attending public schools qualify for free or reduced-price lunches? That means those working families who have come to rely on those meals during the school year come to the Storehouse to support them when summer comes and school is not in session.
If you have the means, please consider supporting us as the Storehouse deals with this increase in our need for services, either through a gift of your time or resources.
Your gift will make a big difference in the lives of local families, offering the food and hope they need to get by. Thank you for all you do to support our mission to fighting hunger.
Sincerely,
Anthony Montoya
