Planting vegetables this year? Plant a few extra rows in your garden for the Storehouse and bring your excess produce to us all summer. Fresh produce is an important part of the healthy options we work to provide through our fixed and mobile pantry sites. Tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and lots of fruits and vegetables that grow well in New Mexico are appreciated by the families that come to the Storehouse for food. They are rich in nutrients and good for growing children, working adults, and our seniors alike.

NMSU has some great resources for planning and planting a garden at http://aces.nmsu.edu/pubs/_circulars/CR457/ and there are lots of local gardening clubs that do, too. Thank you for planning ahead (or should we say “planting ahead”) to support us.
