The YES (Young Engagement Storehouse) Initiative brings together people in their late teens, 20s, and 30s who want to give back, meet like-minded peers, and make a real impact in their community through the Storehouse food pantry.
You don’t need experience—just a willingness to help.
YES! Your Participation Matters
In New Mexico, 1 in 4 children and 1 in 6 adults face food insecurity, a rate higher than the national average. Hunger doesn’t just affect meals—it impacts health, education, and the strength of our community.
The good news is that people working together can make a real difference. Each year, the Storehouse provides nutritious food to more than 78,000 people, and YES members help make that impact possible through volunteering, advocacy, and community support.
What YES Members Do
Involvement in YES is a fun, social way to help the Storehouse fight hunger. YES members can:
- Volunteer at the Storehouse food pantry
- Help host social volunteer events
- Bring friends or coworkers to serve together – team building while you help
- Support fundraising events that help feed local families (opportunities happen multiple times a year — our car show, golf tournament, empty bowls, and more)
- Expand your social circle or your professional connections by meet other young professionals and students who care about the community
- Learn more about hunger issues in New Mexico
- Share ideas or host your own fundraisers or volunteer parties to help fight hunger

Ideally, we are part of creating up-and-coming leaders in our community, helping people realize their worth and their power to do good, and building a stronger community together.

YES members make a difference in two simple ways:
Give: $5/month or $50/year
Serve: Two 4-hour volunteer shifts each year
Open to young adults ages 18–30 who want to help strengthen our community.
